Norse Atlantic Airways and AirlinePros International are pleased to announce its new appointment as the General Sales Agent (GSA) for Norse Atlantic Airways in South Africa.
This significant partnership aims to expand Norse Atlantic Airways’ footprint in the rapidly growing African aviation market, enhancing sales, marketing, and customer service operations across South Africa.
Norse Atlantic Airways, noted for its innovative long-haul low-cost operations is, in partnership with AirlinePros, set to introduce South African travelers to affordable and comfortable travel to London, UK, fostering greater accessibility, connectivity and tourism opportunities between South Africa and UK.
Shreyas Nanavati, CEO of AirlinePros International, shared his excitement about the appointment, stating “We are honored to work closely with Norse Atlantic Airways and to enhance their presence in the South African market. This partnership aligns perfectly with our strategic goals to enhance global connectivity and open new travel possibilities for our customers.”
Commenting on the partnership, Andrew Fish, Head of Sales for UK and South Africa at Norse Atlantic Airways, said “The London-Cape Town route has been under-served for a long time with prices at an all-time high. We now bring a great product with affordable airfares into the market. We will be increasing our distribution in November so that all agents in South Africa will be able to access Norse inventory. We are committed long term to this route with a second season starting October 2025 with fares now available”.
Karin Matodes, Commercial Director of AirlinePros South Africa, remarked on the potential of this new role, saying “This appointment is a significant milestone in our efforts to connect South Africa with top international destinations affordably. Norse Atlantic’s pioneering approach to travel aligns with the evolving needs of the modern traveller, and we are eager to bring this unique travel experience closer to home.”
Flights between Cape Town and London-Gatwick commenced on October 28 and will be operated with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, with fares being offered at 20% lesser than Virgin Atlantic and British Airways, the other two airlines to ply on the route.
This partnership is expected to capitalize on the growing interest in cost-effective travel solutions, meeting the needs of a wide and varied range of travelers, from adventure seekers to business professionals. It is estimated that South African travelers undertook approximately 4.78 million outbound trips last year, with Cape Town International Airport witnessing 2.75 million international passenger movements in 2023-24.
